Carmen Sánchez, age 86, a resident of Jarales, NM, peacefully passed away on Sunday, August 17, 2014 surrounded by her loving family.
Carmen was born to the late Manuel and Fedelina Trujillo on October 15, 1927.
Carmen was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America and St. Vincent de Paul. Carmen also donated her time and money to the orphanages of Mexico and abroad. Carmen enjoyed cooking and serving those in need on Good Friday. Carmen was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Carmen was very well liked and respected by everyone who knew her and will be very greatly missed.
Carmen was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 56 years, Elfego G. Sánchez, sisters, Lola Trujillo, Bessie Baca, Eutimia Montoya and Josie Molina and brothers, Eulario Trujillo and Erlindo Trujillo.
Carmen is survived by her children, Angie López and her husband, Fermine, Alfred Sánchez and his wife, Linda, Henry Sánchez and his wife, Jenny, Donna Ávila and her husband, Alfred and Regina Jaramillo and her husband, Patrick, many loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sisters, Cida Trujillo and Rosie Leveque and her husband, Larry, sister-in-law, Christina Sánchez and brother-in-law, Alfred McGill. Carmen is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
All services will be held at Our Lady of Belén Catholic Church, Belén, NM on Wednesday, August 20, 2014 beginning with a viewing at 10:00 a.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 11:00 a.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. with Father Stephen Schultz presiding. Interment will follow at Santa Fé National Cemetery, Santa Fé, NM at 3:00 p.m. Pallbearers will be Russell Ávila, Eric Jaramillo, Horacio Romero, Jeremy Minnich, Henry López and Jared Sánchez.
