Mary Armenta - Pueblo Chieftain - October 28, 2004 - Mary Armenta, 89, lifetime Puebloan, born Jan. 24, 1915, passed away Oct. 26, 2004, at St. Mary-Corwin Medical Center.

She was a homemaker and loved to go dancing and occasionally to Cripple Creek. Mary had a green thumb and was very proud of her 10th floor garden at the Mesa Towers, where she raised tomatoes, chilies and beautiful flowers on her balcony.

A devout Catholic, she prayed her rosary daily and seldom missed Sunday Mass. To everyone who knew her, she was known as "Little Grandma." She was a member of the SRDA and the St. Charles Mesa Senior Citizens Club.

Preceded in death by parents, Abelino and Victoria (Orosco) Trujillo; husband, John Armenta; two brothers, Henry and Bill Trujillo; daughter-in-law, Faye Armenta; and son-in-law, Abel Baca.

She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Fred Armenta, Evelyn Armenta and Andy (Mona) Armenta; eight grandchildren, Gabriel (Monica) Armenta, Carla (Edward) Yaden, Cathy (Gabe) Martinez, Anthony (Carol) Baca, Yvonne Baca, Steve (Connie) Baca and Tom Baca; 14 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins; sister-in-law, Anabelle Trujillo; and all of her friends at the Mesa Towers.

Visitation, 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Friday, Angelus Chapel. Rosary vigil, 7 p.m. Friday, and funeral Mass, 10 a.m. Saturday; both services at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church.

The Rev. Thomas R. Hinni, C.M. will serve as celebrant. Interment, Roselawn Cemetery. The Armenta family will receive friends at the Zaragoza Hall following the burial rites.
