PLACES ASHES IN COFFIN.
Father and Mother Buried in Same Grave With Son.
St. Joseph, Mo., Jan. 20.—Two small earthen urns, containing the ashes of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Truckenmiller, pioneer residents of St. Joseph, were forwarded Tuesday night to Springfield, Mo., to be placed in the coffin of their son, A. H. Truckenmiller, and buried with his body, in accordance with his dying wish. Mrs. Truckenmiller had died six years ago and her husband last April. The urns were kept in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph Meier. Mrs. Meier is the only child of A. H. Truckenmiller.
Truckenmiller was steward of the Springfield club, but for many years had been proprietor of a hotel in St. Joseph. He was especially well known among theatrical people and is said to have lost a fortune in promoting theatrical companies. He was at one time owner of the St. Joseph Western League team.
Suggested edit: Originally buried in Block 38 Lot 1 but moved to Block 28 Lot 9 on 16 Sep 1946, the reason for the move is unknown, notation found in cemetery record books. Contributor: Tiffany Thomas (49404925) •
