Flossie was born to John W. and Emma Shaffer Burrier on 23 March 1891 in Fort Seneca, Seneca County, Ohio.

She married Lyman I. Truby on 10 May 1921. He was the son of John Calvin and Henrietta Karnes Truby and was born in Warren, Pennsylvania. They were members of the Church of Christ. It does not appear that they had any children.

Flossie died in her home at 149 West Davis Street, Tiffin on 11 Jan 1933 following an illness of five days due to pneumonia. She was survived by her husband and mother as well as a sister, Mrs Grace Adkins and two brothers, Irvin A. and Leon E. Burrier. All three of her siblings resided in Tiffin.

Some time after Flossie's death, Lyman appears to have gone to Russell, Pennsylvania. He was married to Ella Mae Mahaffey Berdine Shepard in 1947 in Lawrence County, Ohio. After her death in 1961, he remained in Warren, Pennsylvania until the spring of 1969 when he moved to Norton County, Kansas to live with his sister, Mabel. It appears that he was visiting her daughter in Grand Junction, Colorado when he passed away there on 28 June 1969. His marker at Oakland Cemetery in Warren appears to have been placed there at the time of Ella's death in anticipation of his burial beside her.
