Dorothy Mae Troutman, 70, of Owensboro was taken in to God's loving arms on Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2010, at Owensboro Medical Health System. She was born on May 6, 1940, in Daviess County to the late Otis and Golda Devine Sparks. She was a homemaker and member of First Free Will Baptist Church. She loved animals of all types, flower gardening, NASCAR, watching wrestling and cooking. She was a very loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jimmie "Pete" Troutman, in September 1983; a sister, Wanda Carrico; and a brother, Jimmy Sparks. Surviving are seven daughters, Cindy Dockery and husband Tony of Owensboro, Charlotte Jewell of Lexington, Anna Daoust and husband Richard of Wake Forest, N.C., Becky Carrico of Savannah, Ga., Debbie Thurman and husband Booney of Owensboro, Lisa Mulligan of Owensboro and Vicki Troutman of Owensboro; 18 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a sister, Shirley Husk of Maceo. A memorial service will be at 7 p.m. Friday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will be after 5 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1302 Frederica St., Owensboro, KY 42301 or to Hospice of Western Kentucky, 3419 Wathens Crossing, Owensboro, KY 42301.
