Josephine (Trimble) Terry Sims
Funeral services for Mrs. Josephine (Terry) Sims, 68, of Cookeville, were
conducted at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, December 23, 2008, at the First Baptist
Church in Sparta.

Burial was in the Old City Cemetery in Sparta.

Mrs. Sims died Friday, December 19, 2008 at her home in Cookeville.

Born August 25, 1940 in Knoxville, she was the daughter of the late William
S. and Eleanor (Hacker) Trimble.

Mrs. Sims and her husband of 48 years, John Moody Sims, helped bring the
first Young Life Clubs to the Upper Cumberland. She was a member of Christ's
Community Church, the Monday Bridge Club, the Tuesday Bible Study Group and
CBS. She had youth groups and Bible studies throughout her life, as opening
the word of God to people was her passion. Mrs. Sims and her husband own the
KFC franchise in Sparta.

In addition to her husband, survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Eleanor and David York of Livingston; 2 sons and daughters-in-law, John Taylor "Jack" and Lynlee Sims and William Scott and Rhonda Sims; a foster son Lynn (Stephani) Rains; a brother and sister-in-law, William Scott and Donna Trimble of Knoxville; 8 grandchildren, 6 foster grandchildren; 4 nieces, Laura Trimble McFadden, Amy Trimble Butler and Carol Camp White, all of Nashville, and Lisa Trimble Christiansen of St. Louis, MO; and 2 nephews, Bill Trimble of Knoxville and Scott Camp of Ashville, NC.

Pallbearers were Ernie Cheek, Bob Gallagher, Gary Sheffield, Chris Jones, Joe Pat Clark, and Ross Cardwell. Honorary pallbearer was William T. Morgan.
