Mrs. Nona Austin, 40, who had made her home in the Timber and Glenwood communities for the past ten years, died at the family home December 28 following an illness of the past several years.
Funeral for Mrs. Austin was held at the Fuiten Mortuary Chapel, Forest Grove, Friday December 31 with Rev. Edwin J. Clarkson, minister of the Timber Friends Church, officiating. Concluding rites and vault interment were at the Mt. View Memorial Gardens, Forest Grove with Art Farbar, Chick Jensen, Mert Griffin, Lewis Gray and Jay Hill serving as pall bearers.
Nona Margaret Austin was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on February 19, 1931. She spent all of her early life and received her education in Indiana and then lived a number of years in Michigan. She was married to Ira Austin in Reno, Nevada on March 28, 1961 and after their marriage they came to this area and continued to live here until her death.
Surviving in addition to the widower are five children; Donald E. Burlingham of the U.S. Army at Fort Ord, California, John R. and William E. Burlingham, Sandra K. and Susan M. Austin, all at the family home in Glenwood. Also surviving is a brother, Carl Trimble, Richland, Washington.
