Sergeant Trent was a member of Company F, 2nd Battalion, 38th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Infantry Division. He was sent to Korea in June 1950 and seriously wounded by the enemy in South Korea on September 1, 1950 and returned to duty on September 23, 1950. He was taken Prisoner of War while fighting the enemy near Kunu-ri, North Korea on November 27, 1950 and died while a prisoner. He was the oldest of 5 children born to Willis Clarence and Myrtle Mae (Farley) Trent. Donald's hometown was Crab Orchard, West Virginia.
