Mrs. Marjorie Lou Stewart, 82, of Caruthersville, Mo., died Saturday, December 2, 2006, at Doctors Hospital in Springfield, Mo. Born April 14, 1924, in Caruthersville, she was the daughter of the late Clyde E. Treece and Clara Montgomery Treece. She attended Caruthersville schools.
She was united in marriage to James Thomas Stewart June 11, 1946 in Blytheville. He preceded her in death January 7, 2006. Mrs. Stewart was employed as a caseworker with the Division of Family Services in Caruthersville for 31 years prior to her retirement. She was an active member of the Wesleyan Church.
Mrs. Stewart leaves one daughter, Martha J. Nelson and husband, Danny, of Ozark, Mo.; one son, Thomas D. Stewart and wife Frankie of Caruthersville; three grandchildren, Anna Beth Fraser of Nixa, Mo., Tiffany Stewart Dennis of Tucson, Ariz., and Tracey Stewart of Caruthersville;; and two great-grandchildren, Tedd Christian Fraser and Darby Ann Fraser, both of Nix.
Funeral services were conducted in the H.S. Smith Funeral Home in Caruthersville. The Rev. Kenny Lee officiated, and burial followed in the Maple Cemetery in Caruthersville. Pallbearers were Tom Tidwell, Steve Kuykendall, Bobby Mott, James Mott, Vaughn Treece and Larry Thrasher.
