TRAVERS. Geraldine (Conlon) Travers, a life long resident of Farmington, died suddenly at home on Saturday (Oct. 25, 1997). She was the beloved wife of Peter G. Travers. She was a graduate of Mt. St. Joseph Academy and Salve Regina College, she worked in the actuarial field until her first child was born. In addition to the unselfish caring Geri Travers gave to her family, she gave much to the community. She had been President of the Farmington Visiting Nurses Association; an Officer and Director of the Women's Committee of The Wadsworth Athenaeum; and an Officer and Director of the Stanley Whitman Museum. Mrs. Travers was a member of The Town and County Club and Treasurer of its investment club, The Country Club of Farmington and an avid golfer, and the Farmington Garden Club as an Officer. To her wide circle of friends, she gave great loyalty, warm understanding and wit. Besides her husband, she is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Peter and Jennifer Travers of West Hartford, her daughter and son-in-law, Regina and Joseph Stettinius of Washington D.C.; a son Andrew Travers of Farmington; her mother Geraldine Harrington of Farmington; a brother and sister-in-law John and Joan Conlon of Green Hill, RI; a sister and brother-in- law, Patricia and Peter Moran of Farmington and a granddaughter, Fiona Travers of West Hartford. Friends may call at The Ahern Funeral Home, 111 Main Street, Rte 4, Unionville, today from 4-7 p.m. A memorial Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, Oct. 28 at 11 a.m. in St. Patrick Church, 110 Main St., Farmington. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to VNA Care, Inc., 1 Old Mill Lane, Simsbury, CT 06070 or to the charitable organization of the donor's choice.
