Tomi Fortenberry Tracy, 79 of Magee, MS, passed away Friday, August 5, 2011 at Magee General in Magee. Visitation will be held from 5-8 pm on Saturday, August 06, 2011 at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Magee. Visitation will also be continued on Sunday, August 7, 2011. Funeral services will be held at 3:30 pm in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in Sharon Presbyterian Cemetery. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee, MS is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs Tracy was born December 9, 1931 in Magee, MS. Tomi and her husband, Frank, owned Tracy's Grocery Store and Tracy's Florist in Magee for many years. She was a creative person who enjoyed writing poetry. She had several published works. She loved her family and friends. Her sister, Katie, stated that she was a precious sister and best friend. She will be dearly missed by all who loved her.
She is survived by her children, Barry W. (Jessica) Tracy, Pasadena, TX and Robin T. (Glenn) Simpson, Madison; grandchildren, Laurel K. Tracy, and Bryce W. Tracy; sister, Katie M. Creel, Magee.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Harmon Franklin and Beatrice Atkins Fortenberry; husband, Frank Tracy; infants sons, Timothy & Thomas Tracy; brother, Pete Fortenberry; sister, Nina Lou Fortenberry.
