Mrs. Barnett was born in Arbor, West Virginia and was a resident of the Coast for 41 years. She worked as a keypunch operator for Ingalls for 2 years leaving in 1989. She managed the Home Pride Restaurant on Howard Avenue in the late 60's and early 70's. Mrs. Barnett was a member at the Big Ridge Baptist Church in D'Iberville.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Karen Marie Barnett; and parents, Dewey and Marie Tracy.
Survivors include her husband, Oley H. Barnett of D'Iberville; three daughters, Sharon Girouard and husband, Larry of Biloxi, Brenda Fendley and husband, Walter of McHenry, Susan Franklin and husband, Chet of Ocean Springs; two sons, David Barnett of D'Iberville, James Barnett and wife, Esther of San Diego, CA; a brother, Dale Lantz of Porterville, Pa.; and five grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday, February 3, 2002 at the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Homes in Biloxi. Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 4, 2002 at the funeral home chapel, with burial in Southern Memorial Park.
