Linda Marie Boots, 52, of Ely, died Friday, May 30, 2008, at University Hospitals in Iowa City following a respiratory illness. Services: 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Matthew's Catholic Church, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. Mark Osterhaus. The family will greet friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, where a wake service begins at 5 p.m. Burial: 2 p.m. Wednesday, St. Peter's Temple Hill Cemetery, Cascade. Survivors include her children, Molly Townsend and Nathaniel Boots, both of Ely, Charity (Jesse) Giannetto of Cedar Rapids; three grandchildren, Chloe Chartier, Don Antonnio and Serena Giannetto; two sisters, Karen (Jerry) Kiburz of Scotch Grove and Laura (Doug) Edler of Gladbrook; and three brothers, Gary (Colleen) Townsend of Mechanicsville and Joe Townsend and Galen Townsend, both of Cedar Rapids. She was preceded in death by her parents. Linda was born May 24, 1956, in Monticello, the daughter of Henry and Mary (Finn) Townsend. A graduate of Jefferson High School, Linda worked at Rockwell Collins for 10 years. She later married Garry Boots. For the past 20 years, she worked for companies acquired by Yellow Book. Linda loved her family and friends. She loved antiques and the outdoors. She also loved to garden. A memorial fund has been established in Linda's memory.
