Funeral services for Angela Joyce Carney Townley will be held at 1p.m. Friday, January 13, 2012, in the chapel of John Kramer & Son with Rev. Joe Kite officiating. Interment will be in the Alexandria Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Townley, age 61, of Alexandria, went home to be with her Lord, Saturday January 7, 2012.
She was born in Ft. Riley, Kansas, on September 13, 1950, to Charles Vernon Carney and Janice George Carney. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Alexandria. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
Mrs. Townley was the founder and owner of the Alexandria Pet Inn Resort & Spa for twenty years. She provided a safe and loving home away from home for over 12,000 special pets.
She is survived by a her husband of 43 years, Daniel Sheldon Townley; two children, Kim Thomason and son-in-law Anthony Thomason of Madison, Mississippi and son, Danny Townley and his wife, Emily Jordan Townley of Richmond, Virginia; five grandchildren, Caroline Townley, Sarah Thomason, Daniel Townley, Emma Townley, and Sydney Thomason; brother Charles Carney and his wife Darlene of Walker; mother-in-law Vida Cole Townley; three furbabies and three fur grandbabies.
Mrs. Townley was preceded in death by her parents; brother Phillip Leo Carney; and father-in-law George Willard Townley.
Visitation will be Thursday, January 12, 2012, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and from 9 a.m. until time of service, Friday, January 13, 2012.
Serving as pallbearers will be David Beard, Jay Carney, Dr. Phil Carney, Kirk Cooper, Anthony Thomason, Matthew Townley, Jeremy Treadway, Aaron Vercher, and Bradley Vercher.
The family would like to express their sincere thanks to Grace Home Hospice, for all their love and compassion.
