Ira May Towery
Ira Mae Towery, 95, passed away on Tuesday, December 17, 2013 at a local nursing facility. A grave side service will be held at 11:00am Friday, December 20, 2013 at the Hico Cemetery, Hico Texas. Officiated by Steve Smith, directed by Fry~Bartlett Funeral Home, Tuscola.
A visitation will be held from 4:30 pm to 7pm, then a prayer service from 7 to 7:30pm Thursday, December 19, 2013 at the funeral home.
Ira Mae was born on January 11, 1918 to Simon and Ira Belle Fergueson in Clay County, Texas. She married Phillip Towery in 1965. They moved to Thorndale where she worked as a caregiver in the Travis State School and in Thorndale as a home health provider. She later moved to Abilene to be close to her family. She was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church.
She is survived by her son Earnest Conradt of Killeen; daughter Esta Scott of Abilene; grandchildren Morgan Conradt, John Conradt, Ken Scott, and Kevin Scott.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Phillip Towery, and sister Faye Hubbard.
