Cordelia Marker was born to William and Sarah Tout Oct. 20, 1893, in Chariton, Iowa, and departed this life April 29, 1960, at the Baker Nursing Home in Chariton.
She was married to William Edward Marker on Aug. 28, 1921, and to this union were born three boys and two girls.
They engaged in farming in the Norwood community. Mr. Marker died April 29, 1944. She then made her home in Chariton. She had taught in the rural schools of Lucas county. She became a member of the Christian church of Chariton at an early age.
Besides her husband, three sons and one daughter preceded her in death: Raymond in 1928, Charles in 1932, Julia in 1946 and John in 1951.
Those left to mourn her passing are a daughter, Mary Johnson and four grandchildren: Roger, Dorothy, Irma and Betty Johnson of Chariton; and one sister, Mrs. Essie Spencer, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Services were at Downs Funeral Home May 2, at 2 p.m., with burial in the Fletcher cemetery. Pastor John Bauserman was in charge of the service.
