MEDICINE LODGE - Evelyn K. Burns, 83, died April 22, 2005, at her home, Medicine Lodge.

She was born Jan. 30, 1922, at Bartlesville, Okla., the daughter of Isco and Myrtle Noel Totten. A resident of Medicine Lodge since 1955, formerly of Augusta, she was a cook at Medicine Lodge High School, and worked for Forsyth Funeral Home.

She originated the Paintin' Place and was past President of PTA, and served on the Library Board.

On June 22, 1941, she married Clayton Burns at Augusta. He survives.

Other survivors include: a son, Nick, Medicine Lodge; a brother, Noel Totten, Dallas; two sisters, Nancy Hughs, Atlanta and Sally King, Dallas; two grandsons; a stepgranddaughter; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two infant children, Mikey and Carla Sue.

Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Larrison Funeral Home, Medicine Lodge, with the Rev. Marc McDonald presiding. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Augusta Cemetery at 3 p.m. Tuesday.

Memorials may be sent to South Wind Hospice or Medicine Lodge Memorial Hospital, both in care of the funeral home.
