Joyce Elaine Johnson of Masury, passed unexpectedly on Saturday, Feb. 4, 2012, in her residence. She was 71.
Mrs. Johnson was born Sept. 2, 1940, in Sharon, a daughter of Alex and Mary Listopad Torok.
Joyce was a 1959 graduate of Brookfield High School.
She retired in 1996 from the dietary department of UPMC Horizon in Farrell, after 29 years.
Joyce was a member of Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge 55, Farrell.
Joyce, affectionately known as "Momma," enjoyed sewing, crafting, bingo, baking and computer games and puzzles.
She leaves behind: her husband, Sam Johnson, whom she married Nov. 22, 1996; a son, Dewayne Ferrara, Erie; two daughters, Valerie and her husband Tim Furey, Erie; and Patrice and her husband Jerry Banch, and a granddog, Miracle, all Hermitage; two sisters, Mary Ellen and her husband Charles Shabla, Vienna, Ohio; and Kathleen and her John Zurko, Hermitage; three stepdaughters, Neva Johnson and Stacy Johnson, both Brookfield; and Jennifer Johnson, Sharpsville. Also surviving are many grandchildren, three nephews, four nieces and several great-nephews and -nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
