Leo David Toomey was born November 28, 1915 in Boston, Massachusetts. His father was Patrick Cornelius Toomey (1888-1978 and his mother was Mary E. Cronage (1890-1940).

Leo was a Pharmacist2 in U.S. Navy during World War II aboard the Navy ship U.S.S. Windsor in 1943. He moved with his father Patrick Cornelius, his sister, Sheila and his brother Eugene from Boston, Massachusetts to Los Angeles, California about 1950. Leo was a Municipal Court Clerk in Los Angeles from 1950 to 1976 when he retired and lived in Diamond Bar, California.

Leo married Carolyn Helen Martin in September 1953 at Divine Savior Church in Los Angeles, California. Leo and Carolyn celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary in 1979 by renewing their wedding vows at St. Vibiana's Cathedral in Los Angeles, California.

Leo and Carolyn moved to Cottonwood, California, with their son, David Patrick, in 1976 and built a beautiful home where he lived until he died in Sacramento in 1982. Leo was a devout Irish Catholic and devoted husband and father.

Survived by his wife, Carolyn Helen Martin Toomey, his daughters, Nanette, Delma, Kathleen, Maureen & Eileen, and his son, David Patrick all from California. Granddaughter, Theresa Catherine, and grandson Jason,of California. Survived also by his sisters, Natalie, Bettie, Sheila & Ruth,and his brother Richard Toomey, all from California.
