George Tony, 77, of Center Twp., passed away Thursday Nov. 3, 2011 in Compassionate Care Family Hospice-Mt. Lebanon.
Born March 4, 1934 in Bentleyville, he was a son of the late Albert and Anne Tony.
Mr. Tony retired from MetLife after a successful career spanning 42 years . He was licensed as an account executive in Pennsylvania, Ohio and West Virginia, and won several leadership and sales awards including, MetLife's Million Dollar Roundtable, Leaders Conference Recognition and President's Club Recognition. George was a member of St. John the Evangelist Antiochian Orthodox Church in Beaver Falls. He was an automobile enthusiast, country music fan and auto racing fan who attended several Indy 500 races.
Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Patricia Ann (Hynes) Tony; two sons and daughters-in-law, William and Anne Marie Tony, Greenfield, WI, Brian and Deborah Tony, South Fayette Twp.; a daughter, Patty Paulin, Hopewell Twp; four grandchildren, Evan, Kayleigh, Amanda and Maggie Tony; a special niece, Vivian Werst, and several other loving nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved son, George D. Tony, on October 22, 2011; a son-in-law, John Paulin; three brothers, Abraham, Michael and Mickey, and three sisters Marie, Edna and Amelia.
Friends will be received Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. TATALOVICH FUNERAL HOME CENTER TOWNSHIP, Monaca, where a service will be held Monday at 11 a.m., with the Very Rev. Christopher Davis, his pastor, officiating.
Entombment will follow in Beaver Cemetery, Beaver, PA.
