Mrs. Ova Toney Carter, 80, of New Market, went to be with the Lord on Thursday. She was a faithful member of Union Grove Baptist Church and was a great cook who was known for her banana pudding. 
She worked tirelessly serving others and was a caregiver for several family members.
She enjoyed quilting with the Plevna Quilters and loved the New Market Senior Center.
She is survived by her three sons, Earl Steve (Lanita) Carter, Stanley (Lori) Carter, and Randy Carter; Her sisters: Virginia Farmer, Eleanor Blackburn, and Audrey Jacks; Her brother: Ronald Toney; And by her grandchildren: Vanessa, Christopher, Jacob, and Laurel Carter.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Stanley Carter; Sisters: Rose Toney, Edna Fanning, Evelyn Huskey; and her brother, William Toney.
The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 5 until 8pm at Hazel Green Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Saturday at 1pm at Union Grove Baptist Church with Dr. Lee Singley and Rev. Benny Berry officiating. The body will lie in repose beginning at noon. Burial will follow in Taylor Cemetery.
