Irene "Tipton" Brown, 95, of Freelandville and formerly of Bicknell, passed away at 11:14 a.m., Friday, Oct. 10, 2003 at Freelandville Community Home. Born March 3, 1908 at Warsaw, Miss., she was the daughter of George and Mary Catherine "Welsh" Tipton. Survivors include, three daughters, Betty Brown and Lois Fish both of Lyons, and Rae Dean of Morefield, W.V.; stepsons, John Brown of Marco and Jim Brown of Union, Mich.; half brothers, Otis Compton of Alamogorda, N.M., Ray Compton of Hutchinson, Kan., and Virgil Compton of Green Valley, Az; 27 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; and three step grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, George "Timmie" Brown on 1965; a son; a stepson; a stepdaughter; and a half brother. Funeral service will be at McClure-Utt Funeral Home in Bicknell at 1 p.m. on Saturday with the Rev. Hiliary Vieck officiating. Burial will follow at Marco Cemetery.
