The Late Mrs. John T. Chewning

The body of Mrs. John T. Chewning, who died of paralysis Friday evening, December 12th, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. John Fishback, at Madison Court House was brought to the home of the late John T. Chewning, near Chancellorsville, where the burial took place Sunday p.m.

Mrs. Chewning was a consistent member of Wilderness Church.

The deceased is survived by three daughters, Mrs. James Eley, Miss Theodosia Chewning, Messrs. Lucius, Berry, Jasper, Vernon, Judson, and Luvant Chewning, all of Spotsylvania, and Mrs. Grace Fishback, of Madison, at whose home she ws living at the time of her death. She is survived also by two sisters, Mrs. William H. Reynolds, of Spotsylvania; Mrs. Virginia Childress, of Missouri, and two brothers, Mr. Quinters Tinder, of Charlottesville and Mr. George Tinder, Michigan.

While the living presence of this gentle and pure woman is no more with her relatives, may her deeds and memory rest like a benediction upon them, and may they all be worthy to join her someday in the Eternal City, whose builder and maker is God.
