Jennie Olivia Timm, age 96, of Newport News, Va., formerly of Baldwin, died Wednesday January 4, 2006, in Virginia. She was born June 6, 1909, in Sarpsborg, Norway, the daughter of Olaf and Josephine Anderson. She came to the United States as a child, entering through Ellis Island, New York.

Jennie had resided in Virginia from 1923 to 1936, and again from 1983 to the present. She married William Timm on December 10, 1931, in Williamsburg, Va. They moved to Wisconsin with their family in 1936, and she resided in Baldwin until his death. She spent close to 50 years in Wisconsin, living a short time at Hersey, Wis., before moving to Baldwin. She worked many years as a nurse's assistant in the maternity ward at the Baldwin Hospital. Jennie was a member of Gethsemane Lutheran Church in Baldwin for many years, and a long-time member of Reformation Lutheran Church in Newport News. She was fondly known to everyone as "Aunt Jennie."

She was preceded in death by her husband; William P. Timm, her daughter, Ruth Marie Anderson; her brother, John Anderson; her great-granddaughter, Ashley Keehn; and her parents.

She is survived by her son, Donald Timm of Bluefield, W.Va.; her daughter, Inga Klavetter of Altoona; her brother, Andrew Anderson of Newport News, Va.; three grandchildren, Rev. William (Gail) Klavetter of Westbrook, Minn., Karen (Carl) Keehn of Eau Claire and Larry Timm of Bluefield, W.Va.; six great-grandchildren, Eric (Heather) Klavetter of Rochester, Minn., Brian Klavetter of Westbook, Minn., Laura (Brian) Kokos of Blue Earth, Minn., Megan Klavetter of Winona, Minn., Heather and Courtney Keehn of Eau Claire; 3 great-great-grandchildren, Parker and Elijah Klavetter of Rochester, Minn., and Abram Kokos of Blue Earth, Minn.; her nephews, Lee Anderson of Gloucester, Va., and Chris Anderson of Williamsburg, Va.; and her niece, Janet Waller of Grand Isle, Vt.; other relatives and friends.

A memorial service was held on Thursday, January 12, 2006, at 7 p.m. at Reformation Lutheran Church in Newport News, Va., officiated by the Rev. James Nickols. A local memorial service will be held today at 1:30 p.m. at Keehr Funeral Home, Spring Valley, with the Rev. William Klavetter officiating. Burial will be in St. Michael's Cemetery, Spring Valley.

Jennie was a very special, caring person. She loved taking care of others and making sure their needs were met before her own. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, aunt and friend.
