Edward attended school in Henderson County. He worked the majority of his life as a farmer. He also worked on the original construction of Hwy 22 in West Tennessee. He professed a hope in Christ at an early age and united with Timberlake Grove Missionary Baptist Church, where he remained a faithful member until his health failed him. He served as a deacon and held the position of treasurer for many years. He loved his church, working hard to reorganize the members when they drifted apart.
