Andrew Griffin Tiffany died Wednesday, March 14, 2012 in Woodland at the age of 95. He was born July 6, 1916 in Vian, Okla., and had been a Yolo County resident for 75 years.
Andy served in the U.S. Marines from 1940 to 1946, and was subsequently self-employed as a truck driver for 40 years. He was a member of the American Lutheran Church, Woodland Elks, American Legion and the Marine Corps League.
Andy is survived by his wife of 23 years, Maxine Tiffany; daughters, Michele and husband Doug Wharton, Chris and husband Rich Casellini and Candy and husband Paul Murray; eight grandchildren, Mark Wharton, Kimberley Young, Laurie Ward, Brian Casellini, Craig Yarbrough, Emily Casellini, Eric Severini and Allison Severini; and six great-grandchildren; and sisters, Cheri Smith of Arizona and Maude Bradshaw and Jean Ellis, both of Kansas. Andy was preceded in death by his first wife, Camille, in 1986; brothers, John and Alec; and sister, Lou Jane.
A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, March 25, at the Woodland Elks Lodge, 500 Bush St., Woodland, with a private burial at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to a charity of the donor's choice . McNary's Funeral Chapel of Woodland is handling the arrangements.
