Jean Tiffany Krampert, 76, died Dec. 1, 2008, in Denver.
She was born in Waukegan, Ill., on June 9, 1932, to Charles and Irene Tiffany. She was a graduate of Lake Forest (Ill.) College. She lived in Waukegan the first 40 years of her life before moving to Cody. The family bought a ranch as well as a CPA practice here.
While in Illinois, she was active at Greenwood School with the Cub Scouts and the PTA; at Christ Episcopal Church as a Sunday School teacher; and in various capacities in activities involving any of her four children. They were members of the YMCA; the boys were involved in Boys Scouts; and the girls were in Brownies and Girl Scouts.
After moving to Cody, everyone participated in 4-H. Jean continued as a leader, as well as volunteering at school. All were active in the Episcopal Church. After the family moved into town, her home became active headquarters for any teenagers needing a place to rest, wash, eat or talk.
Jean spent 18 years working in the Buffalo Bill Historical Center gift shop as assistant manager and sometimes manager.
After the children left home, Jean and Max Tuttle bought an RV and spent the next six years traveling, spending every winter in Texas. They bought a home in Wilson, Kan., when Jean could no longer travel to higher altitudes, but continued to spend their winters in Badera, Texas.
She is survived by four children, five grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister Joanne Cunningham.
