AGAWAM - Vivian M. (Tierney) Cook, 86, died November 22, 2012 at Heritage Hall Nursing Home. She was born in Springfield to the late Lawrence and Edith (Yarranton) Tierney and was a graduate of the High School of Commerce in 1944. Vivian was member of Christ Church Cathedral in Springfield, a life member of the Daughters of the Nile Ahlem Temple #84 and a member of the Mister and Misses Club at Christ Church Cathedral. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 52 years Charles G. Cook, Jr. on June 29, 2009 and four brothers, Richard, Morris, Brian and Norman Tierney and her sister, Evelyn Cirillo. Vivian is survived by her son Charles G. Cook III and his wife Bethann of Springfield her daughter, Cheryl Goodwin of Shelburne, VT, a brother John Tierney of Cold Springs, MD, six grandchildren, Brett Cook, Shannon Moretti, Kenneth Goodwin, Jonathan Goodwin, Jeffery Goodwin and Kevin Goodwin and a great grandson Richard Goodwin. Her funeral will be held on Tuesday at 9:30 AM from the Colonial Forastiere Funeral Home, 985 Main St. Agawam followed by a service in Christ Church Cathedral, Chestnut St. Springfield, MA. Burial will be held on Friday at 3 PM in the Massachusetts Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, Main St. Agawam. Visiting hours for Vivian will be held on Monday from 4-7 PM at the funeral home with a Daughter's of the Nile Service at 6:30 PM. Contributions in Vivian's name may be directed to the Shriner's Hospital for Children, 516 Carew Street, Springfield, MA 01104.
