Age 62, passed away on December 28, 2009 at home, after a courageous fight against liver cancer. She was born November 3, 1947 in Standish, MI, to Harold W. and Ethel Jeanette (West) Fritts. She leaves behind two brothers Bruce (Judy) and Barry (Glenna) Fritts and one sister, Sharon (Peter) Hae-ussler. She moved with her parents to Ann Arbor before she was a year old where she has resided most of her life. On August 24, 1968, at West Side United Methodist Church she married Carl Timothy Ticknor. He survives along with their children, Brian David (Jeanette), Rebecca Elise (Christian) Rognes, Ryan Carl, Molly Jean, Kristopher William, and Karl Donald; her treasured grandchildren, Taylor and Meena Ticknor and Neva Rognes; brother-in-law, Dennis (Beth) Ticknor; along with many nieces and nephews, and special friends, David and Ellen Magee. She was preceded in death by infant son Randall Timothy Ticknor; her father; and her brother-in-law. She was a life long member of West Side United Methodist Church. Marcia was very active in the Pittsfield Historical Society, Ann Arbor Genealogical Society, Cobblestone Farm Group and West Side piece makers quilting group. She served as a Superintendent of Handicrafts for Saline Community Fair, Pittsfield Township Election Officer, 4-H Leader, and Sunday school teacher. She loved traveling, hunting, fishing, sewing, knitting, and reading. She was employed by McNaughton & Gunn, American Greeting, CVS, and Saline Area Schools as a substitute teacher. She and her husband Tim, were foster parents, for over thirteen years, loving and caring for 58 children in their home. Memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, January 16, 2010 at 11:00am at West Side United Methodist Church, 900 South Seventh Street, Ann Arbor, MI. Reverend Tracy Huffman will officiate. Family will receive visitors at the church at 9:30am before the service. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Arbor Hospice, Re-Member, West Side United Methodist Church, or the American Cancer Society . Arrangements by Generations
