CLINTON - Mrs. Lillian Marie Thornton Bass Bradshaw, 71, passed away Tuesday, June 18, 2013, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro. A funeral service will be held at 11 A.M., Friday, June 21st, at Crumpler-Honeycutt Funeral Home Chapel in Clinton with Bishop Larry Parker officiating. Interment will follow in Mount Elam Baptist Church Cemetery in Roseboro, NC. Mrs. Bradshaw, born in Sampson County, was the daughter of the late William Pinkney Thornton and Thelma Inez Westbrook Thornton and was the wife of John Bradshaw, Jr. She was a member and a Sunday School teacher at Spirit of Life Church of God. She was a Jefferson Award winner for her work feeding the hungry. Mrs. Bradshaw was predeceased by her first husband, Troy Lavis Bass; a brother, George Thornton, and a sister, Linda Coats Brown. She is survived by her husband, John Bradshaw, Jr.; a son, Anthony Craig Bass and wife Amy of Alabama; two grandchildren, Anthony Craig Bass and William Alexander Bass, both of Alabama; a brother, William Thornton of Dunn; a sister Judy Lassiter of Smithfield; a step-son, Mike Bradshaw, a step-daughter, Gina Schiro, two step-granddaughters, Kelly and Ashley Schiro, and a step-grandson, Bradley Schiro, all of Tampa, Florida. The family will receive friends 6-8 P.M., Thursday, June 20th, at Crumpler-Honeycutt Funeral Home in Clinton.
