She was born Feb. 29, 1892 in Clark County, the daughter of Lon and May Thornburgh. She married William Atkins. He preceded her in death Jan. 7,1978.
Surviving are two sons, Raymond W. Atkins of Oblong and Clifford D. Atkins of Finley, Ohio; a daughter, Mrs. Wilma Jean Bowen of Sandwich, Ill.; a brother, Noah Thornburgh of Martinsville; and three sisters, Mrs. Inez Reed of Martinsville, Miss Helen Thornburgh of Plainsfield, Ind., and Mrs. Mildred Marlowe of Plainsfield, Ind.
Mrs. Atkins was a member of the St. Paul United Methodist Church of rural Martinsville.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Greenwell Funeral Home in Martinsville with burial in the Ridgelawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held after 4 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. She married William Atkins. He preceded her in death Jan. 7, 1978.
