Friday -- January 12, 1940

Nancy Hurd

Funeral services for Mrs. Nancy Hurd were held from the Drift Run Church Thursday at 2 o'clock and the body was taken to the Sarvis Fork Cemetery for burial. Rev. L.R. Mahoney, Pastor of the Ripley United Brethren Church conducted the services.

Mrs. Hurd died after a two day illness which followed a stroke.

Surviving are four sons, C.O. and H.F. Hurd, both of Wellsville, Ohio; J.W. Hurd of Parkersburg, and V.P. Hurd , of Sandyville; four daughters, Mrs. Oma Lawson, of Sandyville;, Nellie Campbell, of Parkersburg, Mrs. Velma Full, of Parkersburg and Mrs. Mary Carney. Other survivors include a sister, Mrs. Maggie Gibbons, of Sandyville, 28 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

One son preceded her in death.
