Mrs. Mildred Barns, 59, died in the Valley General Hospital here at 5:45 p.m. Monday, only a few minutes after arriving at the hospital by ambulance from her home at 413 W. 10th Avenue. She had been in ill health since last August.
She had lived in Ellensburg with her husband, Earl Barns, for the past year. Previously they had farmed on the West Side for about eight years.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Barns is survived by a daughter, Mrs. George Heffley of Bremerton; a son, Orville Palmer of California; a sister, Mrs. Howard Payne of Seattle; a brother, Claude Thompson of Seattle; a half brother, Vern Case of Portland, Ore., and four grandchildren.
The Rev. Lloyd Pollock will officiate at the funeral service to be conducted in the Honeycutt-Evenson Chapel at 2 p.m., Friday, February 15. Interment will be in the IOOF Cemetery.
