WEBSTER - Evelyn (Thompson) Arpe, 99, of 535 School St., died Friday at Sandalwood Nursing Center in Oxford after a long illness.

Her husband, George B. Arpe, died in 1977. She leaves nieces and nephews. She was born in Webster, daughter of Frank and Lula (George) Thompson.

Mrs. Arpe was a member of the United Church of Christ, Federated and served on several of its committees, including those for fairs and the church bulletin. She was a member of the Webster American Legion Auxiliary, the Webster-Dudley Historical Society and the Black Tavern Historical Society in Dudley.

A graveside service will be held at 10:15 a.m. Dec. 30 in Mt. Zion Cemetery. There will be a memorial service at 11 a.m. Dec. 30 at United Church of Christ Federated, 4 Church St. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the United Church of Christ Federated, Memorial Fund, 4 Church St., Webster, MA 01570. Robert J. Miller Funeral Home, 366 School St., is directing arrangements.
