Jerry Boyington Thompson, Sr., of Goose Creek, husband of Patricia Brown Thompson, departed this life December 14, 2009.

Born March 11, 1935 in Troup, TX, he was the son of Oscar Thompson and Lorine Crooper Thompson.

Jerry retired from the United States Air Force after 22 years of service, and was a Vietnam veteran. He also retired from the State Ports Authority where he was employed as a mechanic.

He was a member of Midway Baptist Church.

Mr. Thompson is survived by his wife, Patricia Thompson of Goose Creek; one son, Christopher Wayne Thompson, Sr. of Rock Hill; one daughter Cathy Chiasson and husband Glen of Goose Creek; one daughter-in-law, Adele Thompson of Moncks Corner; seven grandchildren, Ashley Cloninger, Kyle Chiasson, Christopher Thompson, Jerry Thompson, III, Shelby Chiasson, Brittney Thompson and Austin Thompson.

He was predeceased by a son, Jerry B. Thompson, Jr.
