Funeral services for Gloria E. Burnett, age 79 of Maple Valley, will be held 11 AM Thursday, December 21, 2000 at the Hobart Community Church, 27524 SE 200th, Hobart. A reception will follow. Private burial will follow at Greenwood Memorial Park. A visitation will be held on Wednesday from 1 to 5 PM at Flintofts Issaquah Funeral Home. Gloria passed away on December 16, 2000 at Valley Medical Center in Renton.
Gloria was born on November 30, 1921 in Olympia, the daughter of Fred and Emma Thompson. She was raised in Maple Valley and graduated from Tahoma High School in 1940. On November 15, 1940 she married Carroll V. Burnett in Seattle. She was a school bus driver for many years for the Tahoma School District. Gloria was preceded in death by her husband in 1985 and a son Ronald C. Burnett in 1999; grandson Michael Keith Burnett in 1982; great granddaughter Christine Elizabeth Greenside in 1994. In her leisure time she enjoyed baking pies, cooking chicken and noodles and taking care of her flower and vegetable garden
Survivors include her son Larry (Pete) G. Burnett and his wife Estelle; of Auburn; daughter-in-law Pat Burnett, of Maple Valley; 5 grandchildren, Pam (Les), Mickie (Tom), Kelly, Robert, Kathleen (Tim) and 19 great grandchildren.
