Halley "Rowena" (Thompson) Dugger was born July 15, 1935 to Violetta Irene (Halden) Thompson and Lester Smith Thompson in Gladewater Texas. At the age of 77 years and 26 days, Rowena went home to heaven after a long struggle with heart and lung disease and diabetes. Her last 2 weeks was spent in ICU at OSU Medical Center, during which time she had open heart surgery . Her lungs were not strong enough to recover and at 2:28 a.m. on August 11th 2012, she took her flight to Glory.

Rowena was preceded in death by her father Lester Thompson, mother Vi Kramer and step-father Morgan Kramer. She was also preceded in death by her loving sister Alexis Kramer, brother Darrel Wood and Grandmother Gertrude Hilda And….her faithful companion Fannie, her cat.

Rowena is survived by her newly found brother, Lester "Sonny" Thompson and wife Corrine; nieces, Angela Wood and Janifer Hilton; and nephew, Charles Thompson; great niece, Peyton; great nephews, Braden, Tanner and Tristin; cousins, Lori and Connor, Barbara, Mary, John and Beverly. She is also survived by her loving "adopted" family….Wanda and Jack Metcalf, Karen Summit, Kathy and Joel Carpenter and Alyssa, Jarryd Duncan and Kylie, and Kelly and Mike Morrison and Elizabeth.

The Thompson family moved to Owasso Oklahoma from Texas when Rowena was 8 months old. She graduated from Central High School in Tulsa Oklahoma with the Class of 1953.

Rowena has been employed by the Country Music Hall of Fame-Nashville TN and then began her career in the Oil and Gas Industry. She worked as an Administrative Assistant, both in Nevada and Oklahoma, retiring from Shamrock Oil and Gas in Tulsa.

Rowena was an AVID sports fan. In her younger days, she followed the Tulsa Oiler baseball team as well as the Tulsa Ice Hockey team both at home and away games. Rowena was also a dedicated OU Sooner fan and would follow the players careers as they went Pro. She also had printed the Olympics Television Schedule and was looking forward to this year's Summer Olympics.

Rowena loved "Mickey Mouse" so much so that she had the hospital staff singing the Mickey Mouse Song with her during one of her procedures. She and Lexie vacationed once and sometimes twice a year in Disney World Orlando. They went so often, they purchased a Time Share Condo; their favorite being The Boardwalk. Rowena also enjoyed sending her friends and family to Disney World.

Following the death of Lexie, Rowena sold the Florida Condo and enjoyed going on cruises with the LaBass family and road trips to Branson with the Metcalf, Summit, Carpenter families.

Rowena loved to shop, but not for herself. She delighted in giving to others. Birthday and Christmas gifts were usually given in advance because she couldn't wait to give them until the special day.
If you went to see her, you never left her home without taking something, be it food or other goodies.

Rowena ‘s favorite holiday was Christmas. From Church Programs, Dance Recitals, Gift Giving and Christmas Lights. In 2010, she received the First Place Award for the best outdoor lighting of her home at Oakbrook Condominiums.
