Death takes Edith Pengilley
Mrs. Edith Penqilley of Rosamond was taken in death April 30, 1964. She was born in England Aug. 5, 1892 and was a widow at the time of her death at the Antelope Valley Hospital in Lancaster.
She and her late husband were long time residents of the area and once lived at the Golden Queen Pump Station which furnished most of the water for that famous mine's operation. Although we never saw the place until later years, people said they had made the location one of the most beautiful spots in the desert.
Services were held at the Stickel Chapel on Saturday May 2, 1964 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Nelson officiating. Burial followed at the Mojave Cemetery.
She is survived by four sons, William and Edward of Rosamond; Joe of Smartsville, Calif.; and John of Yuma, Arizona. Thirteen grandchilren also survive.
