Services for Willie Mae Thompson, 88, Tyler, are scheduled for 11:00 A.M., Saturday, Jan. 7, 2006, at Stewart Family Funeral Chapel with Rev. Mark Markle officiating.
Burial will be in Cathedral in the Pines Cemetery under direction of Stewart Family Funeral Home.
Mrs. Thompson passed away Thursday, Jan. 5, 2006 in Tyler.
Willie Mae was born to the late Richard Nelson and Bessie Williams Lynn on Dec. 13, 1917 in Italy, Texas. She lived in the Tyler area for the last 40 years. She was a member of Central Baptist Church and for ten years worked at Trinity Mother Frances Hospital as a dietitian. She loved gardening and enjoyed shopping and cooking. Raising five children, she will always be remembered as a wonderful mother who enjoyed being a mother to her kids and grand-kids.
She was preceded in death by her husband, T. W. Thompson, three brothers, one sister, and one son-in-law.
Willie Mae is survived by her loving family including her children, Bonnie Blalock and husband Art of Richardson, Patricia Gilbert of Jefferson, James Thompson of Shreveport, La., Charles Thompson and wife Sandra of Chandler, and Virginia Mallet and husband Bobby of Jefferson; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sister, Bernice Mince of Gallatin, Tenn.; brother, Billy Lynn of Nashville, Tenn.; and special daughter-in-law, Sharon Thompson of Shreveport, La.
Pallbearers will be Tommy Blalock, Chris Conway, Robert Mallet, Arthur Blalock, Joshua Box, and Todd Gentry.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Craig Dorset, Dr. Gene Earl and Oscar Minchey.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 pm Friday at Stewart Family Funeral Home, 7525 Old Jacksonville Hwy., south Tyler 75703.
