***∼Edward Thomson (or Thompson) was a Mayflower passenger who died while the Mayflower was moored in Cape Cod Harbor at Provincetown. He was one of the two servants who came with the William and Susanna White family. He did not sign the Mayflower Compact, so was probably under 21 or too ill at the time. His was the first death that occurred after the Mayflower landed at Provincetown, and little is known about him.
The pilgrims lived on the Mayflower at Provincetown, MA for five weeks prior to settling at Plymouth, MA.
Edward has two cenotaphs in Provincetown.
The first is at the Winthrop Street Cemetery and the second is in the Mayflower Passengers who died at Sea Memorial.
