She was born Oct. 25, 1918 in Lebanon to the late Frank X. and Isabel Hill Thomas. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William A. Clements Sr.; a daughter-in-law, Donna Smith Clements; two brothers, Frank X. and Sam B. Thomas; and a sister, Sarah T. Smith.
She attended business school in Louisville and worked as an administrative assistant to Schenley Distillery in Lebanon for seven years. She was an active member of St. Rose Catholic Church for 55 years. The main focus of her life was raising her seven children and supporting them in raising her 14 grandchildren.
Her survivors are four sons, Bill (Teresa) Clements of Lawrenceburg, Frank X. (Paula) Clements of Louisville, Sam Thomas (Anita) Clements and Joe Clements, both of Springfield; three daughters, Mary Sue (Eddie) Lee of Lebanon, Nancy Clements Clan of Louisville and Robbi C. (Steve) Thomas of Elizabethtown; 14 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren, Addison Elizabeth Lee, Lily Catherine Pickett, Braxton Ryan Lee, Whitney Cardwell, Jonathan Campbell and Audrey Mauer.
Funeral Mass was conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 16, 2010 at St. Rose Catholic Church, with Rev. Culpepper Elliott officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers were her eight grandsons, Eddie Lee IV, Ryan Lee, Thomas Clements, William Clements, Clayton Clan, Xavier Clements, Adam Thomas and Jason Mauer.
Honorary pallbearers were her six granddaughters, Anna C. Pickett, Susan Lee Higdon, Isabelle Clements, Kelly Clan, Grace Clements and Tina Campbell.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Rose Church or Mass of the Air.
