Ronald Lee "Chisel" Thomas, 49, of the Flatrock
section of Honaker, died Aug. 5 in a Lebanon
hospital.
Born Aug. 13, 1956 in RichJands, he was a son of
the late Basil and Trula Mae Clark Thomas.
He had spent his early life in Buchanan County
prior to moving to Honaker and attended Living
Waters Church of God in Baptist Valley, A
disabled coal miner, he was formerly employed at
Beatrice Coal Company and was a member of the
UMWA.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in
death by two sisters, Judy Carol Deel and Teresa
Ann Thomas; his maternal grandparents. Rev.
Jay and l.ouisia Clark; his paternal grandparents,
Dale Thomas and Grade Thomas Dye; his step
grandfather, B.E. Dye; and several aunts and
uncles.
Survivors: lifetime companion, Loretta Breedlove;
son, Austin Lee Thomas; brothers, Harold Dean
Thomas and Dallas Wayne Thomas, both of
Flatrock, Ricky Jay Thomas and wife, Crystal, of
Honaker; sister, Connie Dale Lloyd and husband,
Steven, of Cleveland; nieces, Heather Renee
Deel, Amber O'enra Thomas, Michelle "Mack"
Jones and Alexis Brianna Deel Mullis; nephews,
Ricky C.B. Thomas, Terry Noah Thomas, Tony
Wayne Thomas, Terry Duane Thomas, Timothy
"Timbo" Lockhart and Cody; special friends, Larry
and Patsy Breedlove of Pounding Mill, Stephen
Breedlove and Theresa Stilwell; aunts and uncles.
Gave and Ed Childress, Lester Clark, Myrtle
Stiltner and Ruby Thomas; and a host of friends.
The funeral was conducted at 2 p.m. Aug. 8 in
the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor
Jeremy Day, Rev. Howard Riley and Rev. Wayne '
[ Baldwin officiating. ,
Interment followed in the Clark Cemetery on Big
A Mountain.
