PEORIA -- Mary A. Carmody, 72, of 2914 N. Scenic Drive, formerly of Alta, died at 12:06 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 8, 1995, at Rose Garden Convalescent Center in Peoria Heights.
Born July 18, 1922, in Olin, Iowa, to Charles and Edna Kenyon Thomas, she married Clarence Earl "Jack" Carmody on April 17, 1943, in Kahoka, Mo. He died Dec. 3, 1983, in Peoria. Two sons, Dennis and Roger, and one brother also preceded her in death.
Surviving are two sons, Jack L. of Dunlap and Jerry A. "Pete" of Peoria; three daughters, Mrs. Michael (Sharon) Savage and Mrs. Michael (Diana "Dee Dee") Cribbs, both of Peoria, and Vicki Tomblin of Dunlap; one brother, Ray Thomas of Galva; one sister, Mrs. James ( Velma) Witt of Peoria; 14 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was a member of the Methodist faith.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Hammitt-Hott Funeral Home in Princeville. The Rev. Ron Dickinson will officiate. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight at the funeral home. Burial will be in Princeville Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Children's Miracle Network at Saint Francis Medical Center.
