She was the daughter of William Clark Thomas and Helen Poor Thomas. She was the granddaughter of Edward E. Poor, the President of the National Park Bank of New York. On October 13, 1917, she married Philip Thurston Cate at the Arlington Street Church in Boston, Massachusetts. Sometime between 1930 and 1940 they divorced. On February 23, 1940, she married T.J. Duncan Fuller of Cambridge.
Helen Thomas Fuller died on January 1, 1981. She was a former resident of Cambridge, Massachusetts. Survivors included her husband, T.J. Duncan III; two sons: Phillip T. Cate of Santa Fe, New Mexico and William C. Cate of Cambridge; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and a sister, Frances T. Cate of Cambridge. Private memorial services were held at a later date.
