PAULINE THOMAS SPALDING, 81, Springfield, died Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2009, at 2500 St. Rose-Lebanon Road, Springfield. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Margaret Abell Thomas. Survivors include five sons, Joe Spalding, Tommy Spalding, Henry Spalding, Kenny Spalding and Chris Spalding, all of Springfield; and three daughters, Sue Mattingly, Lebanon, Kathy Fowler, Bardstown, and Janice McCubbins, Springfield. The funeral was 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 7 at St. Rose Catholic Church in Springfield, with the Rev. James Murray, O.P. and Deacon Joe Dant officiating. Burial was in St. Rose Cemetery, Springfield. Pallbearers were Joey Spalding, Kent Spalding, Stacy Spalding, Matthew Spalding, Andrew Spalding, Kevin Spalding, Greg Spalding, Scott Spalding, Thomas Spalding and Travis Mattingly. Hale-Polin-Robinson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

PAULINE THOMAS SPALDING, 81, Springfield, died at 2:50 p.m. Nov. 4, 2009, in Springfield. Born in Marion County May 28, 1928, Spalding was a homemaker and member of St. Rose Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by: her husband, Charles F. Spalding; a daughter, Geri Lynn Spalding; her parents, Leonard and Margaret Abell Thomas; a grandson, Brent Spalding; a sister, Mary Ola Rawlings; and a brother, Leon Thomas. Survivors include: five sons, Joe, Tommy, Henry, Kenny and Chris Spalding, all of Springfield; three daughters, Sue Mattingly of Lebanon, Kathy Fowler of Bardstown and Janice McCubbins of Springfield; three brothers, L.A. Thomas of Port Charles, Fla., and Clifton and Cyril Thomas, both of Lebanon; two sisters, Justine Russell of Springfield and Eunice Ann Thomas of Lebanon; 26 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Nov. 7 at St. Rose Catholic Church in Springfield with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. James Murray, O.P., and Deacon Joe Dant officiated.
