Doris Evelin "Tommie" Thomas Rosenlieb Fildes, 84, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, formerly of Clay City and Pekin, IL, passed away on Monday, December 7, 2009, at Manzano del Sol Nursing Center in Albuquerque. Doris was born July 6, 1925, in Zif Township, Wayne County, IL, to Ralph Lee and Nancy Mae (Attebury) Thomas. She was preceded in death by her brother, Glenn Lee Thomas in 2007. Doris married Edward William Rosenlieb in January 1946. He preceded her in death in November 1968. She married Woodrow Fildes in January 1975. He preceded her in death in December 2002. Doris worked at Sparton Manufacturing Company in Flora, IL for many years. She was a member of the Clay City Christian Church, in Clay City, IL, the Parkview Christian Church in Pekin, IL and the Ridgecrest Christian Church in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Surviving Doris are her daughters, Cheryl Rosenlieb Tenant and husband Bruce, Sandra Rosenlieb Carpenter and husband Darrell, Connie Rosenlieb Hudgeons and husband Edward; grandson, David Carpenter; granddaughter, Bronwen Wild and husband Kelly, and great-granddaughter, Rhiannon Joy, all of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Embracing her step-family as her own, Doris devotedly remembered birthdays and facilitated festive family gatherings for one and all. Surviving stepchildren include David Fildes and wife Chris of Tremont, Illinois, Ramona Fildes Schultz and husband Bob of Pekin, Illinois, Jeanne Fildes Kunz and husband Bill of Portola Valley, California. The family of step-son Roger Fildes (deceased) also resides in California. Doriss extended step-family included 12 step-grandchildren and 11 step-great-grandchildren. Services for Doris will be held at Ridgecrest Christian Church, 5300 Eastern Avenue SE., Albuquerque, NM 87108, NM, on Saturday, December 12, 2009 at 11:00 a.m., with son-in-law Darrell Carpenter officiating. Interment will be at Clay City Cemetery in Clay City, IL. Memorial Services will be held at a later date in Clay City and Pekin, IL. Arrangements by Direct Funeral Services, 2919 4th St. NW.
