Funeral services were held Wednesday at 10 a.m. in the First Christian Church in Nelson for Mrs. Albert G. Bargen, 49, who died Sunday in a Lincoln hospital. The Rev. Victor Schwarz officiated and burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery in Superior. The Megrue-Price Funeral Home was in charge.

Mrs. Bargen was born at Nelson and resided in the Nora community until her marriage in 1945 when she and her husband moved to a farm near Superior.

Survivors are her husband; daughters, Mrs. Richard Calver of Lincoln and Janice at home, and her brothers and a sister, Ralph Thayer of Guide Rock, Lynn Thayer of Nora, Dr. Jon Thayer of Belleville, Kansas and Mrs. Glen Crook of Superior.

Marie Bargen was born Dec. 11, 1920, at Nelson, Neb., the daughter of George and Cora Thayer. She died July 19, 1970 at the Lincoln General Hospital in Lincoln.

She graduated from the Nora High School and completed work at the Junior College in Hebron for a teacher's certificate. She taught schools in Nuckolls County for several years.

On Dec. 11, 1945, she was married to Albert Bargen at the bride's home near Nora, Neb. To this union were born two daughters, Connie and Janice.

Mrs. Bargen was a member of the First Christian Church in Nelson, where she had served as a deaconess, Sunday school superintendent and teacher.

Survivors are her husband, Albert; two daughters, Mrs. Richard Calver (Connie) of Lincoln and Janice of the home; one sister, Mrs. Glen Crook (Helen) of Superior; and three brothers, Ralph of Guide Rock, Lynn of Nora and Jon of Belleville. There are also many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister and brother, Elda and John Woodrow Thayer.

Funeral services were held Wednesday at 10 a.m., at the First Christian Church in Nelson with the Rev. Victor Schwarz officiating. Interment was in Evergreen Cemetery. The Megrue-Price Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
