Obituary

Arthur S. Thayer was born August 3, 1896 near Knoxville in Knox Co. Nebr. The family moved to Boyd Co. when Arthur was four years old, and he grew to manhood here being 22 years. 3 mo. and 2 days old when he died.

The family moved to Lynch about eight years ago and it was here that he united with the M E. Church while Rev. J. A. Johnson was our pastor

He entered the U.S. service August 5, 1918. and was sent to Camp Fremont California, where he remained in training nearly three months and was then transferred to Camp Mills N.Y. On his arrival there he was taken to the Base Hospital where he died November 5, of pneumonia.

He leaves to miss cheery smile and words of comfort, his mother, Mary A. Thayer, one brother Geo. R. Thayer, and three sisters Clara M. Christensen, Amy R. McGeorge, and Mary E. Thayer, one brother Floren W. Thayer having gone on before.
