FUNERAL SERVICES HELD FOR ARLO THATCHER
Funeral service was held at the First Methodist Church at 2:00 Tuesday for Arlo Thatcher, youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Thatcher who passed away Saturday night at the local hospital from severe burns which he received at the family home twelve miles southeast of Holyoke, June 11.
Rev. Haruf, pastor of the church conducted the service. A quartet composed of Ruth Kelly, Aileen Kelly, Guy L. Bereman, and Keith Hoppler sang two numbers and were accompanied by Mrs. F.B. Kelly.
Arlo was born in Holyoke on July 24, 1934. The Master called him home at the age of 11 years, 10 months, 28 days. Arlo united with the Methodist Community Church at Wages, Colorado on Easter Sunday, April 1, 1945.
Arlo was a happy child, singing wherever he went. He had a wonderful personality and gave joy and comfort to all who met him. He had many friends and was loved by all who knew him. During his illness he bore his suffering with patience and a smile.
Left to mourn his departure are, his beloved parents, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Thatcher, two brothers, Jay and Vay of Holyoke and two sisters, Mrs. Maxine Smith and Mrs. Ilene Guernsey, both of Holyoke, one niece and four nephews, also many other relatives and a host of friends, young and old.
