| Birth: | Jul. 26, 1921 Wilmington New Hanover County North Carolina, USA | | Death: | Oct. 10, 2011 Houston Harris County Texas, USA |  Mary Elizabeth Alspach, age 90, passed away on October 10, 2011. She was born on July 26, 1921 in Wilmington, NC to Jessie and William Tharp. After graduating from high school, Elizabeth served her country during WWII by enlisting in the U.S. Army. She lived in Virginia Beach, VA before relocating to Houston about 5 years ago.
Elizabeth was an active member for more than 50 years in the Order of the Eastern Star. She was also a member of the American Legion Post 127 Tomball.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents; and her sister, Hazel Lee Hunter. She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia Angelo and husband Michael; her grandchildren, Lisa and Kevin Angelo; her niece, Wanda Norris and husband Jimmy; and other loving relatives and friends.
Friends are invited to visit with the family from 6 until 8 PM on Monday, October 17, 2011 at Brookside Funeral Home Champions. A graveside service will be held at 2 PM on Tuesday, October 18, 2011 in Houston National Cemetery.
